Detroit DD13 EPA10 (2010-13) Fault Code: SPN 3509 FMI 3 (MCM) 5V Sensor Supply Bank 1 Circuit Failed High

DESCRIPTION:This fault sets when the Motor Control Module (MCM) detects a short to power on Pins 58 or 117.

MONITORED PARAMETER:5V internal power supply.

TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:Always enabled

MONITOR SEQUENCE:None

EXECUTION FREQUENCY:Always enabled

TYPICAL DURATION:Two seconds

DASH LAMPS:1. MIL2. CEL

ENGINE REACTION:None

VERIFICATION:Engine Idle: One minute.

PROBABLE CAUSES:Short to power from the MCM pins to a sensor:1. Pin 58, charge air cooler outlet pressure sensor.2. Pin 102, charge air cooler pressure sensor.3. Pin 103, inlet air delta p & intake throttle valve.4. Pin 117, inlet air delta p & intake throttle valve.
