•The signal voltage from the ambient air temperature sensor is greater than 4.92 VDC for more than eight seconds. •The “Allow Idle Shutdown Override” parameter is programmed to “Outside Temperature Based” or “J1587 Outside Temperature Based”. •The ECM has been powered for at least two seconds.
Probable Causes:
1) ECM Connection/Harness 2) If code 232-3 or 232-4 (5 Volt Supply voltage codes) are active, troubleshoot those instead 3) Temperature sensor failure 4) Temperature sensor harness 5) ECM Failure
The Engine Control Module (ECM) detects the following conditions:
•The signal voltage from the ambient air temperature sensor is less than 0.2 VDC for more than eight seconds.
•The vehicle speed slows at a rate that exceeds the “Quick Stop Rate” that is programmed. •The service brake is applied.
Probable Causes:
•The parameter for the “Quick Stop Rate” may be set too low.
Note: This setting can be affected by the load on the vehicle. If the vehicle is operated without a trailer or with no load, the vehicle will stop faster than the same vehicle with a heavy load.
The Engine Control Module (ECM) detects one of the following conditions:
•The “Allow Idle Shutdown Override” parameter is programmed to “Yes” and the status of the brake switch or the clutch switch changes. •The “Allow Idle Shutdown Override” parameter is programmed to “J1587 Outside Temp Based” or “Outside Temperature Based”. The outside temperature is above the maximum programmed temperature or the outside temperature is below the minimum programmed temperature. •The idle shutdown timer is within the final 90 seconds. •The “Idle Shutdown Time” parameter is programmed to at least three minutes.
Probable Causes:
1) It code 84-08 is active, Idle Shutdown Timer will not activate 2) Reprogram parameter in ECM 3) Brake pedal switch/harness 4) Clutch pedal switch/harness 5) Vehicle speed sensor/harness 6) PTO switch sensor/harness
The Engine Control Module (ECM) detects the following conditions:
•The signal voltage from the fuel temperature sensor is greater than 4.95 VDC for more than eight seconds.
Probable Causes:
1) ECM Connection/Harness 2) If code 232-3 or 232-4 (5 Volt Supply voltage codes) are active, troubleshoot those instead 3) Temperature sensor failure 4) Temperature sensor harness 5) ECM Failure

The Engine Control Module (ECM) detects the following conditions:
•The ECM detects a low current condition (open circuit) for one second while the ECM is attempting to energize the solenoid for cylinders 3 and 4. •The engine retarder switch is in the low or high position.
Probable Causes:
1) ECM Connection/Harness 2) Harness between the ECM and valve cover base 3) Engine retarder solenoid failure 4) Harness under valve cover 5) ECM Failure 6) Harness at bulkhead connector
