The theft deterrent feature has been enabled. The correct password must be entered in order to disable the theft deterrent. Then, the engine can be started.

The Engine Control Module (ECM) will operate in the “Secure Idle” mode if the theft deterrent password is entered. The engine must be running in order to operate in the “Secure Idle” mode. The ECM will be in the “Secure Idle” mode until the theft deterrent password is entered again.
