The Engine Control Module (ECM) detects one of the following items after attempting to operate the injector:
•A low current condition (open circuit) exists in the wiring for the cylinder injector solenoid. •A high current condition (short circuit) exists in the injector solenoid.
Probable Causes:
1) ECM Connection/Harness 2) Cylinder injector failure 3) Injector solenoid failure 4) Harness from ECM to valve cover connector 5) ECM failure 6) Injector harness under valve cover
This code indicates that the engine has run above 95% of full power for more than 15 minutes in a one hour period. The engine will be derated in order to prevent damage to the engine. This could be caused by misapplication of the engine. This code can only be caused by driver and or load (too heavy)
•The signal voltage from the ambient air temperature sensor is greater than 4.92 VDC for more than eight seconds. •The “Allow Idle Shutdown Override” parameter is programmed to “Outside Temperature Based” or “J1587 Outside Temperature Based”. •The ECM has been powered for at least two seconds.
Probable Causes:
1) ECM Connection/Harness 2) If code 232-3 or 232-4 (5 Volt Supply voltage codes) are active, troubleshoot those instead 3) Temperature sensor failure 4) Temperature sensor harness 5) ECM Failure
The Engine Control Module (ECM) detects the following conditions:
•The signal voltage from the ambient air temperature sensor is less than 0.2 VDC for more than eight seconds.
The theft deterrent feature has been enabled. The correct password must be entered in order to disable the theft deterrent. Then, the engine can be started.
Note: This diagnostic code represents an event. This diagnostic code does not represent an electronic system fault.
The Engine Control Module (ECM) will operate in the “Secure Idle” mode if the theft deterrent password is entered. The engine must be running in order to operate in the “Secure Idle” mode. The ECM will be in the “Secure Idle” mode until the theft deterrent password is entered again.
The Engine Control Module (ECM) detects the following conditions:
•The engine is cranking. •The theft deterrent is active.
The diagnostic code is active only. The diagnostic code will be active when the theft deterrent is enabled and the engine is cranking for more than five seconds. The engine will not start until the correct password is entered.
The Engine Control Module (ECM) detects the following conditions:
•The status of the service brake pedal position switch 1 and the service brake pedal position switch 2 do not match for at least 15 seconds. •The engine is running. •The ECM has been powered for at least three seconds.
Note: The “Transmission Style” parameter must be programmed to Automatic Option 2 or Automatic Option 3.
System Response:
This diagnostic code will prevent cruise control, PTO operation, or idle operation.
The engine will disengage or the engine will not allow the setting of the Cruise Control, the PTO, or the Idle speed.

This diagnostic code will prevent cruise control, PTO operation, or idle operation.
The engine will disengage or the engine will not allow the setting of the Cruise Control, the PTO, or the Idle speed.
This code indicates that the engine was shutdown due to an engine overspeed condition.
Probable Failures:
1) Talk to the driver. 2) If no driver error, issue may be in the Air Inlet Shutoff Circuit 3) Test air inlet shutoff switch & wiring 4) Transmission nuetral switch/wiring 5) Air shut off valve solenoid 6) Air inlet shutoff relay 7) ECM Failure
