Volvo All Engines (2017 Emissions) Fault Code: P111A00 PID: EMS Intake Manifold Temperature Too High

Volvo All Engines (2017 Emissions) Fault Code: P111A00 PID: EMS Intake Manifold Temperature Too High

Circuit description
The Intake Air Temperature and Humidity Sensor contains two thermistors, and the resistance of each thermistor varies inversely to temperature. By monitoring the current flow through each thermistor, the Engine Control Module (ECM) calculates the temperature and humidity of the air entering the turbocharger.

The Engine Control Module (ECM) uses values from the Intake Air Temperature (IAT), Intake Manifold Pressure (IMP) and compressor efficiency to calculate the Compressor Discharge Temperature.

Conditions for diagnostic trouble code (DTC)
Charge air temperature too high

Probable cause
1) Connector
2) Wiring harness
3) Intake manifold air temperature (IMAT) and pressure sensor
4) Extreme driving conditions
5) Poor cooling

Detailed information
High ambient temperature can cause an active diagnostic trouble code (DTC)
