PACCAR PX-8 CM2150 (2007-09) Fault Code: 689 PID: 190 SPN: 190 FMI: 2 Engine Crankshaft Speed/Position – Data Erratic, Intermittent, or Incorrect. The ECM has detected an error in crankshaft position sensor signal.

Verify the electronic control module (ECM) calibration is correct. Check the calibration revision history found on QuickServe™ Online for applicable fixes to the calibration stored in the ECM. If necessary, recalibrate the ECM.

This fault is logged when the ECM does not receive a valid crankshaft position signal.

Possible causes:

1)Open or short circuit of the 5 volt SUPPLY, SIGNAL, or RETURN wire in the engine harness
2)Damaged crankshaft position sensor.

Possible repairs:

1)Replace the engine wiring harness.
2)Replace or shim the sensor if air gap is out of specification. If the target runout is excessive, replace the target.
3)Replace the crankshaft position sensor.
4)Replace the ECM.

PACCAR PX-8 CM2150 (2007-09) Fault Code: 688 PID: 98 SPN: 98 FMI: 0 Engine Oil Level – Data Valid but Above Normal Operational Range – Most Severe Level. High oil level has been detected by the oil level sensor.
PACCAR PX-8 CM2150 (2007-09) Fault Code: 687 PID: 103 SPN: 103 FMI: 1 Turbocharger 1 Speed – Data Valid But Below Normal Operating Range – Moderately Severe Level. Low turbocharger speed detected by the ECM.
PACCAR PX-8 CM2150 (2007-09) Fault Code: 686 PID: 103 SPN: 103 FMI: 2 Turbocharger 1 Speed – Data Erratic, Intermittent, or Incorrect. An invalid turbocharger speed signal has been detected by the ECM.
PACCAR PX-8 CM2150 (2007-09) Fault Code: 649 PID: SID 115 SPN: 1378 FMI: 11 Engine Oil Change Interval – Condition Exists. Change engine oil and filter.
PACCAR PX-8 CM2150 (2007-09) Fault Code: 599 PID: SID 025 SPN: 640 FMI: 14 Auxiliary Commanded Dual Output Shutdown – Special Instructions. The engine protection limit has been exceeded for the dual outputs calibrated limits.
PACCAR PX-8 CM2150 (2007-09) Fault Code: 598 PID: 167 SPN: 167 FMI: 1 Electrical Charging System Voltage – Data Valid But Below Normal Operating Range – Most Severe Level. Very low battery voltage detected by the battery voltage monitor feature.
