Detroit DD13 EPA07 (2007-09) Fault Code: SPN 3251 FMI 0 (MCM) Diesel Particulate Filter Pressure Out of Range Very High

NOTE:This fault code sets when the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) outlet pressure is greater than 35 kPa (5 psi) for more than 10 seconds.

DESCRIPTION:DPF pressure out of range very high.

MONITORED PARAMETER:Exhaust Pressure

TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:Always on

MONITOR SEQUENCE:None

EXECUTION FREQUENCY:Continuous when enabling conditions met.

TYPICAL DURATION:Two seconds

DASH LAMPS:1. MIL2. CEL3. SEL

ENGINE REACTION:Derate 25%

VERIFICATION:Run engine between 1200 to 1800 rpm with a load less than 10%.

PROBABLE CAUSES:1. Inspect all connections upstream of the MCM – DPF inlet pressure sensor, ATD harness 10-pin connector, VIH 31-pin connector, and MCM 120-pin connector.2. DPF inlet pressure sensor.3. DPF inlet pressure hose.4. Perform parked regen.5. Inspect DPF for excessive soot, oil, or coolant.
