DESCRIPTION:This code sets when the Intake Throttle Valve Position has a 15% deviation from the position commanded by the Motor Control Module (MCM) when the engine coolant temperature is above 60°C (140°F).

MONITORED PARAMETER:Intake Throttle Valve (ITV)

TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:Coolant temperature is greater than 60°C (140°F).

MONITOR SEQUENCE:None

EXECUTION FREQUENCY:Continuous when enabling conditions met.

TYPICAL DURATION:Five seconds

DASH LAMPS:1. MIL2. CEL

ENGINE REACTION:10% Derate

VERIFICATION:Engine rpm = 600 rpm or higher.

POSSIBLE CAUSES:1. Faulty ITV motor.2. Faulty ITV position sensor.3. Sticking ITV.

PROBABLE CAUSES:1. Air throttle valve harness.2. ITV harness connector.3. Intake throttle valve failure.4. Cold temperatures may falsely cause this code to appear.5. Intake throttle valve sensor.
