The Engine Control Module (ECM) detects the following conditions:
•The ECM detects a low current condition (open circuit) for one second while the ECM is attempting to energize the solenoid for cylinders 3 and 4. •The engine retarder switch is in the low or high position.
Probable Causes:
1) ECM Connection/Harness 2) Harness between the ECM and valve cover base 3) Engine retarder solenoid failure 4) Harness under valve cover 5) ECM Failure 6) Harness at bulkhead connector
The Engine Control Module (ECM) detects the following conditions:
•The ECM detects a low current condition (open circuit) for one second while the ECM is attempting to energize the solenoids for cylinders 1, 2, 5, and 6. •The engine retarder switch is in the medium or high position.
Probable Causes:
1) ECM Connection/Harness 2) Harness between the ECM and valve cover base 3) Engine retarder solenoid failure 4) Harness under valve cover 5) ECM Failure 6) Harness at bulkhead connector
The Engine Control Module (ECM) detects the following conditions:
•The ECM detects a high current condition (short circuit) for one second while the ECM is attempting to energize the solenoids for cylinders 1, 2, 5, and 6.
•The 5 volt supply is greater than 5.16 VDC for more than one second. •The ECM has been powered for at least three seconds.
Sensors that are regulated with 5V: Boot pressure, atmosphere pressure, engine oil pressure, coolant temperature, intake manifold air temperature, fuel temperature
The Engine Control Module (ECM) detects the following conditions:
•The 5 volt supply is less than 4.84 VDC for more than one second.
•The signal voltage from the engine oil pressure sensor is greater than 4.95 VDC for more than eight seconds. •The ECM has been powered for at least two seconds. •The 168-01 Low ECM Battery Power is not active. •The 232-03 5 Volt Supply voltage high is not active. •The 232-04 5 Volt Supply voltage low is not active. •The engine is not running or the engine coolant temperature is greater than 38 °C (100 °F).
If you have this code inactive but has happened recently or frequently, please clear the code, turn the key on, and then wiggle the sensor to attempt to generate the code. If you don’t generate the code, there could be a problem with high crankcase pressure or a wiring problem with the sensor. A plugged crankcase breather will cause excessive crankcase pressure, which leas to crankshaft seal failure, which leads to piston ring failure. All of this will increase your crankcase pressure. Sticking of the pistons can also cause this code, and cylinder liners should be inspected for scoring/scuffing.
The Engine Control Module (ECM) detects the following conditions:
•The signal voltage from the engine oil pressure sensor is less than 0.2 VDC for more than eight seconds. •The ECM has been powered for at least two seconds. •The 168-01 Low ECM Battery Power is not active. •The 232-03 5 Volt Supply voltage high is not active. •The 232-04 5 Volt Supply voltage low is not active. •The engine is running or atmospheric pressure is greater than 80 kPa (12 psi).

•The actual boost pressure is higher than the desired boost pressure.
The engine may experience low power when the diagnostic code is active.
Probable Causes:
Determine the cause of the excessive boost pressure such as a wastegate for the turbocharger that has failed or a line for the wastegate that has been pinched.
