Volvo All Engines (2017 Emissions) Fault Code: P064111 PID: EMS Sensor Reference Voltage “A”

Circuit description
An analog signal from the accelerator pedal is used to indicate a percent value of the accelerator pedal position. The signal is monitored by the Vehicle Electronic Control Unit (VECU) and communicated to the Engine Control Module (ECM) via the J1939 data link. Based on the signal, the ECM will request a certain engine torque. If the analog signal is too low or too high, the ECM instead uses the digital signal from the accelerator pedal’s idle validation switch to enable driving in limp home mode.

Conditions for diagnostic trouble code (DTC)
The voltage at pin A17.B.PB:10 is less than 4.7 V

Observable symptoms
Auxiliary brakes do not function
The engine does not respond when accelerator pedal is pressed.

Probable cause
1) Accelerator pedal
2) Switch stalk, auxiliary brake
3) Supply wire, Short circuit to lower voltage
4) Supply wire, Short circuit to ground
