NOTE: The fault indicates the high idle regeneration (HIR) was aborted due to diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) inlet temperature not reaching the minimum of 270°C (518°F) to initiate dosing during an HIR. The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) will remain on until the fault is resolved or a successful regeneration is complete.
DESCRIPTION:DOC Inlet temperature out of range low.
MONITORED PARAMETER:DOC temperature
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:Regeneration
MONITOR SEQUENCE:None
EXECUTION FREQUENCY:Continuous when enabling conditions met.
TYPICAL DURATION:Two seconds
DASH LAMPS:MIL
ENGINE REACTION:None
VERIFICATION:Parked regen
NOTE: If codes 3242-8 or 3242-20 present, fix those first.
PROBABLE CAUSES:1. DOC inlet temperature sensor.2. DOC inlet temperature sensor connector/harness.3. Intake throttle valve failure.4. Inspect exhaust system for leaks.5. Check intake system (hoses, charge air cooler, etc…) for leaks.6. Perform stationary regen.
