Volvo All Engines (2013 Emissions) Fault Code: P242800 PID: EMS Exhaust Gas Temperature Too High

This diagnostic function indicates malfunction at the exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensor. The purpose of the exhaust gas sensor is to contribute the relevant temperatures required for the temperature regulated aftertreatment diesel particulate filter regeneration control. A faulty EGT sensor can result with a failed aftertreatment (DPF) regeneration.
