The Aftertreatment Hydrocarbon Dosing Module contains three non serviceable valves, the Aftertreatment Fuel Shutoff Valve, Aftertreatment Purge Air Valve and Aftertreatment Hydrocarbon Dosing Valve, and a serviceable Aftertreatment Fuel Pressure Sensor.During DPF regeneration the Engine Control Module (ECM) sends a voltage signal to activate the Aftertreatment Fuel Shutoff Valve to the open position. This fault indicates failure of the combustion flame to ignite. When aftertreatment diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration is active the aftertreatment control module (ACM) activates the ignition coil, aftertreatment DPF atomization module and air valves in order to create a flame in the aftertreatment DPF combustion chamber. The flame temperature is monitored continually by the ACM. To verify combustion the ACM measures the rise in flame temperature during the first 10 seconds of combustion.
