Detroit DD13 EPA07 (2007-09) Fault Code: SPN 190 FMI 0 (MCM) Engine Over Speed

Posted by Diezel Solutions on

DESCRIPTION:This fault code sets when the engine speed is above 2500 rpm. MONITORED PARAMETER:Engine speed TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:Engine speed greater than idle. MONITOR SEQUENCE:None EXECUTION FREQUENCY:Continuous when enabling conditions met. TYPICAL DURATION:Two seconds DASH LAMPS:MIL ENGINE REACTION:Engine brakes are activated. VERIFICATION:Start and run the engine. POSSIBLE CAUSES:1. Vehicle was driven downhill in too low of a gear or without using the engine brakes.2. Crankshaft speed sensor fault.3. External combustible fluids drawn into the air intake. NOTE: This fault code can be induced by the driver while the vehicle is traveling downhill.; There will be a message in the instrument cluster...

Detroit DD13 EPA07 (2007-09) Fault Code: SPN 247 FMI 0 (CPC) MCM Engine Hours Data Higher than Expected

Posted by Diezel Solutions on

NOTE: The common powertrain controller (CPC) may have the same SPN as some motor control module (MCM) faults. The diagnostic service too makes the distinction between the MCM and CPC when diagnosing a fault. NOTE: This diagnostic is typically MCM engine hours data higher than expected. This fault usually occurs after reprogramming the CPC or MCM. The internal clocks of the CPC or MCM do not match. After reprogramming either module, all fault codes must be cleared. NOTE: This error usually occurs after an improper ECM programming. ECM must be programmed correctly, most often the internal clocks don’t match. Detroit...
