Cummins ISB4.5 CM2150 Fault Code: 1883 PID: SID 324 SPN: 3251 FMI: 2 Aftertreatment Diesel Particulate Filter Differential Pressure Sensor – Data Erratic, Intermittent, or Incorrect.
Posted by Diezel Solutions on
Circuit DescriptionThe engine control module (ECM) provides a 5 volt supply to the aftertreatment diesel particulate filter differential pressure sensor on the sensor supply circuit. The ECM also provides a ground on the sensor return circuit. The aftertreatment diesel particulate filter differential pressure sensor provides a signal to the ECM on the aftertreatment diesel particulate filter differential pressure sensor signal circuit. This sensor signal voltage changes, based on the differential pressure across the aftertreatment diesel particulate filter. Component LocationThe aftertreatment diesel particulate filter differential pressure sensor is located in the aftertreatment system. Refer to the OEM service manual for the...
Cummins ISB4.5 CM2150 Fault Code: 1887 PID: 2202 SPN: 3226 FMI: 4 Aftertreatment Outlet NOx Sensor Circuit – Voltage Below Normal or Shorted to Low Source.
Posted by Diezel Solutions on
Circuit DescriptionThe aftertreatment outlet nitrogen oxides (NOx) sensor is a smart device and receives commands from the engine electronic control module (ECM) via the J1939 data link. The aftertreatment outlet NOx sensor performs its own internal diagnostics and reports malfunctions back to the primary ECM using the J1939 data link. The NOx sensor is permanently attached to the NOx control module. They are serviced as a single component and can not be replaced individually. The aftertreatment outlet NOx sensor is used to measure the outlet NOx emissions from the engine. Component LocationThe aftertreatment outlet NOx sensor location can vary depending...
Cummins ISB4.5 CM2150 Fault Code: 1898 PID: SPN: 641 FMI: 13 VGT Actuator Controller – Out of Calibration.
Posted by Diezel Solutions on
Circuit DescriptionThe variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) is electronic activated by the VGT actuator. The VGT actuator is a smart device that receives information via the J1939 data link from the primary engine control module (ECM). The VGT actuator performs its own diagnostics and reports errors back to the primary engine ECM using the J1939 data link. Component LocationThe VGT actuator is located on the turbocharger bearing housing. Conditions for Running the Diagnostics-This diagnostic runs when the keyswitch is initially turned to the ON position. -The keyswitch must be completely turned OFF for more than 30 seconds before this diagnostic will...
Cummins ISB4.5 CM2150 Fault Code: 191 PID: 50 SPN: 876 FMI: 11 Air Conditioner Clutch Supply Circuit.
Posted by Diezel Solutions on
Circuit DescriptionThe air conditioner clutch solenoid is a device used by the electronic control module (ECM) to control the air conditioner by sending a signal to open or close the air conditioner clutch solenoid. Component LocationRefer to an original equipment manufacturer’s (OEM) diagram for the location of the air conditioner clutch solenoid. Shop TalkAir conditioner clutch solenoid could be malfunctioning due to a damaged engine harness or a bad ground on the air conditioner clutch connector.
Cummins ISB4.5 CM2150 Fault Code: 1911 PID: 157 SPN: 157 FMI: 0 Injector Metering Rail Number 1 Pressure – Data Valid but Above Normal Operating Range – Most Severe Level.

Circuit DescriptionThe engine control module (ECM) monitors engine operating conditions, including the reading of rail fuel pressure, and changes the flow command to either increase (OPEN the fuel pump actuator) or decrease (CLOSE the fuel pump actuator) the fuel supply to the high-pressure pump. Component LocationThe fuel pump actuator is installed on the high-pressure fuel pump. The high-pressure relief valve is located on the fuel rail. Conditions for Running the DiagnosticsThis diagnostic runs continuously when the engine is operating. Conditions for Setting the Fault CodesThe ECM has detected that the measured fuel rail pressure is above the commanded fuel rail...
