Cummins ISB4.5 CM2150 Fault Code: 1228 PID: 27 SPN: 27 FMI: 2 EGR Valve Position – Data Erratic, Intermittent, or Incorrect.

Circuit DescriptionThe engine control module (ECM) uses the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve position sensor to determine whether or not the EGR valve is meeting the commanded position. The ECM supplies 5 volts to the EGR valve position signal circuit, and the EGR valve position sensor outputs a voltage signal to the ECM, based on the valve position. The ECM converts this signal into a percentage value, 0 to 100, indicating the valve position. A fully open valve is equivalent to 100 percent. Component LocationThe EGR valve position sensor is internal to the EGR valve assembly and can not be...
Cummins ISB4.5 CM2150 Fault Code: 123 PID: 102 SPN: 102 FMI: 4 Intake Manifold 1 Pressure Sensor Circuit – Voltage Below Normal or Shorted to Low Source

Circuit DescriptionThe engine control module (ECM) provides a 5 volt supply to the intake manifold pressure sensor on the sensor supply circuit. The ECM also provides a ground on the sensor return circuit. The intake manifold pressure sensor provides a signal to the ECM on the intake manifold pressure signal circuit. This sensor signal voltage changes based on the pressure in the intake manifold. The ECM will detect a low signal voltage at operating conditions such as during an idle or a deceleration. The ECM will detect a high signal voltage during high engine load operating conditons. Component LocationThe intake...
Cummins ISB4.5 CM2150 Fault Code: 1239 PID: SPN: 2623 FMI: 3 Accelerator Pedal or Lever Position Sensor 2 Circuit – Voltage Above Normal or Shorted to High Source.
Posted by Diezel Solutions on
Circuit DescriptionThe accelerator position sensor is a Hall effect sensor attached to the accelerator pedal. The accelerator position sensor varies the signal voltage to the engine control module (ECM) as the accelerator pedal is depressed and released. Low signal voltage is received by the ECM when the accelerator pedal is at 0 percent. A high signal voltage is received by the ECM when the accelerator pedal is at 100 percent. The accelerator pedal position circuit contains an accelerator pedal position 5-volt supply, accelerator pedal position return, and accelerator pedal position signal. The accelerator pedal contains two position sensors. These position...
